Youthful Aamir Khan launches new Samsung phones

Aamir Khan, newly announced brand ambassador for Samsung, attended the launch of five new phone models - SGH-i 45, SGH-G800, i550, D-880 and J210 - at Regal Room, Hilton Towers, Mumbai, Wednesday, March 12.

Attired in a loose fitting purple color crewneck T-shirt with short sleeves and faded jeans Aamir, who recently worked up six-pack abs for a song sequence in Ghajini, looked youthful and very fit. Samsung honcho, H. B. Lee, was on the mark pinpointing Aamir's strengths even if he was relying entirely on hearsay: "The Samsung brand stands for qualities of innovation, change, discovery, self-expression and excellence in performance. And these very same qualities are epitomized by Aamir Khan, whose quality and depth of work as well as versatility as an actor, have made him a much loved and respected actor in India today. We are indeed very proud and privileged to have him as our Brand Ambassador."

On an aside, Aamir initially shot the shirt-less six-pack-abs song sequence in South Africa nearly five months ago. Recently, the film's choreographer, Ahmed Khan, wanted to introduce a variation to improve the song but realized that Aamir had lost his six-packs and even put on some weight.

When Aamir, whose penchant for perfection is legendary, heard about the problem he asked Ahmed for three weeks to get back in shape, and did just that.

Part of the song sequence was re-canned over four days at Film City in Mumbai last month.

Coming back to Samsung, the five phones that Aamir launched are:

The dual-slider music phone SGH-i450, priced at Rs.15,000, comes with touch wheel navigation. The 3D surround sound powered by ICE Power amplifiers by Bang & Olufsen provides a superior sound quality for music. Other features include 2 Megapixel Camera, Bluetooth 2.0 (A2DP, 35 MB internal memory + micro SD.

The Samsung SGH-G800, a 5 mega pixel camera phone with 3x optical zoom is priced at Rs.21,799. It supports advanced digital camera features such as anti shake, face detection, Xenon flash and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). Other features include Mobile blogging, PictBridge, USB 2.0, Bluetooth v 2.0 and Yahoo / Google Search

Samsung i550 is powered by Symbian S60 operating system and incorporates an in-built GPS receiver. It features 3 megapixel camera and supports Bluetooth audio streaming. It is priced at Rs 25,000.

Samsung D880 comes with an in-built GPS receiver and is capable of handling two SIM cards. It offers a 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera, 2.3" wide LCD screen, Bluetooth and Stereo FM radio. It will sell for Rs.13, 799.

J210 costing Rs.6,649 features 2 mega pixel camera phone with FM recording, microSD memory card expansion and Bluetooth music streaming.

It is Aniston and Owen now!

The litany of speculations surrounding Jennifer Aniston's presumed quest for a father to her child continues. The latest to be linked with the 39-year-old is her current co-star Owen Wilson.

The two are currently in Miami on the set of the comedy film Marley and Me in which they play husband and wife."The hugging didn't end when the cameras stopped rolling," a crew member told Star. "They were very flirty together, far more than you would expect. In between takes they were hanging onto each other. They are very friendly."

Aniston and Owen have known each other for some time now. In October 2007, while Owen was recovering from the trauma of his suicide attempt in August, Aniston sent him some of her favorite books, including The Power of Now, according to Star.

A friend of Aniston confirms to OK! that the Friends star could be interested in Owen who can make Aniston laugh.

However, says the friend, Aniston continues to be also interested in Vancouver- based Brian Bouma, a key grip she met on the set of Traveling in Vancouver. The two were first linked after being spotted leaving BFF Courteney Cox's house late February.

Aniston and Bouma reportedly keep in touch over the phone and Bouma may visit Miami soon.

So what about sighting of Owen spending some quality time with ex Kate Hudson who was in Miami to attend a film festival?

A friend of says, "He isn't seeing anyone seriously; he wants to keep his options open."

Britney Spears maintains shrine to Justin Timberlake at home

While her former boyfriend may diss her from public platforms, Britney Spears maintains a shrine to him at her home in Studio City, where she spends most of her day now.

The shrine is stocked with Britney's collection of private mementos from her years with the fellow mousekeeter.

"She's obsessed with him," a source told OK! "She has pictures of them together and has devoted a private area just to celebrate him." A story in the latest issue of the magazine also details how the pop star, who is recovering from mental health issues, spends her time alone in her $7.2 million, 7,400-square-foot Mediterranean-style villa. Restricted by her father and conservator, Jamie, from going to clubs, junk-food outlets and gas stations, Britney keeps herself occupied by changing clothes.

"Changing clothes all day long must seem harmless enough, so her dad doesn't interfere with that," says a friend of Britney. "She'll change three or four times on days when she's not leaving the house."

Visitors to her house say Britney keeps it surprisingly ordered and clean.

"Her life may seem out of control, but the inside of her house is very ordered," says a friend a friend. "She's very clean and has no clutter."

Britney does miss her old life though.

"I'm so bored. I hate my life," she recently text messaged a friend.

We don't think the accommodation shown by the Bollywood bimbos has anything to do with Indian hospitality.

Richard Gere and Richard Branson would not have dared treat a Hollywood actress the way they treated Shilpa Shetty and Neha Dhupia, unless the actress was a close friend.

But then you get what you deserve, don't you?

It is possible the Branson - Dhupia incident was a pre-orchestrated publicity stunt. If it was indeed the case, we would have no complaints because we would "take the whole incident in the right spirit" to use Dhupia's own words.

Britney conservators go ballistic over $1 million lawyer fees

Her custody dispute with ex Kevin Federline has cost Britney Spears over $ 1million over the past five months and her conservators are concerned. They have filed documents challenging the billing and will appear in court Monday, March 11.

Britney has been charged $600,000 by Trope and Trope, her erstwhile law firm, and $500,000 by lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, who is representing K-Fed, reports TMZ.

Britney is required to pay K-Fed legal costs for the custody dispute, according to a previous court ruling. The conservators are crying foul saying bills have been inflated. Trope & Trope, for example, often sent more than one lawyer to attend a hearing, which the conservators believe was unnecessary since it is a straightforward custody dispute.

Rihanna sexes up her world tour with racy bondage inspired outfit

Rihanna performed in front of a packed O2 Centre in London, Friday, March 7, wearing a racy bondage inspired outfit, identical to the one that she wore earlier during her performance in Dublin late last month.

The 20-year-old stylish Barbadian singer, currently on her Good Girl Gone Bad world tour, wore suggestive thigh-high boots, hot pants and a corset, and sang into her 'badgal' diamond encrusted microphone.

Katrina Kaif in 'Race' but not to the top

Katrina Kaif is not just one of Bollywood's most successful and highest paid actress, she is also the smartest. She plays a lead role opposite Saif Ali Khan in Abbas Mustan directed thriller Race set for release March 21.

After having signed a Rs 6 crore two film deal with Studio 18 last month, she now commands a paycheck that is less than that of just two Bollywood actresses - Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor.

Despite being placed at almost the top of the pecking order, Katrina is not in a race for the top slot and is unmindful of the paycheck that others command. "I don't know how much anyone else charges so I can't speak for them. You can ask for any amount but it's not necessary you'll be paid that much. You get only what you deserve," she told HT in a recent interview.

The secret of Katrina's success so far has been to act with popular stars like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, who can carry a film on their shoulders and practically guarantee its success.

Katrina knows that is something she cannot do and is charmingly unabashed in acknowledging it.

"I want to enjoy my work. Working with a good team is a great learning experience. I'm only 23 and at the moment I don't want the pressure of carrying a film on my shoulders," she says.

She readily acknowledges the role of Akshay Kumar, her co-stars in 2007 block busters like Namastey London and Welcome, in her success.

"I feel blessed to work with a star like Akshay so early in my career. It was brave of him to work with me when I was a newcomer. He supports me in every way. I've seen many co-stars who're waiting for you to make a mistake but he's not one of those," she told the Mumbai Mirror

Akshay and Katrina feature together again in Anees Bazmee's Singh is Kinng set for release late in summer this year.

Katrina's USPs are a good screen presence and an image that blends modernity with Indianity - the quintessential NRI look. However, she does not consider herself a light weight when it comes to acting.

Asked by Mumbai Mirror to comment on Shah Rukh Khan's tongue in cheek remarks that we would like to see her talk more in her films, Katrina says, "Obviously he was too busy to watch Namastey London."

Britney at Millennium as pregnancy rumors persist

Britney Spears was seen at the Millennium Dance Studios on Tuesday, March 4, as speculation that the troubled pop star maybe pregnant was rekindled by her visit to a Beverly Hills medical centre with her father Jamie on Monday, March 3.

Britney once again took a dance class at Millenium, to the delight of the 15 children who attended it.

”I like Britney,” Elissa Bouganim, 5, who has taken three classes with Britney, told People magazine. “Today, first we were dancing slow, and then faster and faster …. Then we did the fish-move and lots of other fun things," Elissa gushed. While Britney appears to be convalescing well, her usually grim face suggests she is not enjoying the process too much. We bet she will readily swap her current Jamie Spears administered structured life style for the good old partying days with the likes of Adnan Ghalib and Sam Lutfi.

Meanwhile Britney's contemporaries in the world of entertainment continue to wish her well, the latest amidst them being James Blunt who termed her a "phenomenal artist" and chided people for thinking more about her panties than her singing career.

During his performance at Beacon Theatre, Friday night, February 29, Blunt commented about "how people are probably wondering if Britney is currently wearing knickers in Los Angeles," between songs to the great amusement of the crowd.

Priyanka Chopra ducks role with Akshay Kumar

Priyanka Chopra turned down a role in Blue, a slick action thriller being produced by Shree Ashtavinayak. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar.

No one knows why Priyanka turned down the role but everyone believes it was because Akshay Kumar is in the film, making the actress appear like out of control nymphomaniac who would not be able to stop herself from devouring our action hero.

Priyanka, 25, was romantically linked by Mumbai tabloids with Akshay, 40, when they were on the set of their last film together Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005). Akshay is married to Twinkle Khanna, daughter of former Bollywood heartthrobs Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. The couple has a 5-year-old son, Aarav.

Following reports of Akhsay's dalliance with Priyanka, Twinkle is said to have forbidden him to act in a film again with Priyanka or risk their marriage.

Anyway, that was gossip. Lets get back to Blue, an interesting film that will bring a lot of Hollywood to Mumbai - the director and entire crew of the film are from Hollywood.

The film is expected to feature a lot of action sequences including diving.

The cast additionally includes Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Suniel Shetty.

Sanjay Dutt is working with Hollywood trainer Lawrence to acquire eight pack abs for the film which is scheduled to start filming in June.

It now turns out that Hilton's guru is actually a Hollywood actor named Maxie Santillan and in all probabilities they were playing to the gallery. Maxie has starred in films and TV shows including My Name is Earl and Pirates of the Caribbean, reports TMZ. Of course, being an actor does not disqualify him from being Hilton's spiritual guide. Indeed, going by his profile on MySpace, he maybe eminently qualified for the job.

53rd annual Filmfare Awards: Complete list of winners

Shah Rukh Khan was adjudged the best actor for Chak De! India and Kareena Kapoor the best actress for Jab We Met at the 53rd annual Filmfare awards Saturday, February 23 at Yash Raj studios, Andheri, Mumbai.

The event was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan Akshay opened the evening performing to the beats block buster hits like Hare Ram Hare Ram from the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Other Bollywood stars who performed include Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Himesh Reshammiya.

Britney to her bodyguard: Shut the [bleep] up!

Stepping out of Starbucks after her fix of coffee, Thursday, February 28, Britney told her bodyguard, who started to shout at the wall of paparazzi blocking their way, "You are screaming in my ear! Would you shut the [bleep] up?" Wearing a barely there tube skirt and a cropped top Britney was showing a lot of skin, not to mention a flatter stomach. "I am not pregnant y'all!" One would have expected the custody challenged mama, who spent over three hours with her two toddlers earlier in the day, to have been in a better mood. But then may be she was!

Mahima Chaudhury back in showbiz

Mahima Chaudhury looked all glammed up at the International Boat Fair at MMRDA Grounds Thursday evening, February 28.

The 34-year-old mom of an eight month old daughter is almost back in shape. She was dressed in a sleeveless black satin bateau neckline, drop waist cocktail dress with a studded belt. Her center parted long hair set in large curls were styled across her shoulders. She had a lot of bling on both her hands.

Model turned actress, Mahima, married Bobby Mukherjee, a high profile Mumbai Architect, in 2006 amidst total secrecy. Their daughter, Aryana, was born on 10 June 2007.

This is Mahima's first marriage but Bobby has two children from a previous marriage.

Mahima was launched by Subhash Ghai with Pardes in 1997 opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Mahima will be next seen in Chandralekha (Pre Production) with co-stars Tabu and Anil Kapoor.

Paris Hilton posed topless, in just a hat and a pair of Calvin Klein panties, for the February issue of the US magazine 944.

For the color coordinated photo shoot Hilton used green eye makeup to go with the green digits of '944' and wore peacock feather earrings.

Despite the fact that it is Paris Hilton who is posing, the overall effect is eye catching and tasteful. There is no denying her excellent body tone and good figure. The former inmate may not have lived up to her post jail promise of visiting Rwanda but we give her credit for working hard and making a living, albeit largely by shedding her clothes. The last thing she would want to do after such raunchy photo shoots would be to end up back in jail.
